With plans to meet on a fateful Friday, circumstances intervened, and Akua found herself seeking solace in North Carolina, where she would quarantine alongside her sister.

However, our physical separation only served to ignite the flame of our connection. Through the power of technology, our love blossomed, transcending the limitations of distance and time. Day after day, we found solace in our daily FaceTime conversations, building a foundation of trust, understanding, and unwavering support.

Months passed, and as the world began to slowly open its doors, the stage was set for our long-awaited reunion. In the warmth of a summer's day in July, we finally met, the culmination of countless moments shared on a screen. It was a moment of pure bliss, as if time had stood still and the universe had conspired to bring us together against all odds.

But our story didn't end there—it was just the beginning. In the midst of our journey, a precious addition entered our lives, Nala, a furry companion who instantly captured our hearts. Recognizing the depth of Gerald's love for Nala, Akua wholeheartedly embraced our newfound family and lovingly adopted Nala as my own. We embraced our role as dog parents, showering Nala with warmth, care, and affection.
